Hi, I’m Dani States — voice actor, solopreneur, and founder of VOICEOVERVIEW.
In late 2013, after being laid off from my corporate marketing job for the second time in five years, I took a leap of faith and followed my heart into voice acting — launching a new chapter as a creative entrepreneur.
With a background in marketing, I knew how important it was to build a strong business foundation.
But when it came to tracking metrics, managing outreach, and staying on top of finances, I had to teach myself — creating systems that helped me grow and sustain my business over time.
Creating the Tools I Needed (and You Do Too)
In 2017, I founded VOICEOVERVIEW, a business tracking and management platform built specifically for voice actors.
Later, when I started using Apollo.io for outreach, I realized most of their training was geared toward large sales teams — not solopreneurs.
So I found a different way — adapting Apollo to fit how creatives actually build relationships and grow their businesses.
